TWINS?

by becca105, Mar 26, 2008 11:48AM
My hcg levels came back at 98453.0, I am 91/2 weeks pregnant, and now they are saying I may be pregnant with twins according to the ultrasound, but they are not sure.  I am going for a better ultrasound today.  Are those hcg numbers consistant with twins?

gosh I'm having twins and my HCG levels weren't ever that high that early.....maybe more than 2???  And to be honest I was actually having triplets til 9 weeks and we lost the third one.

Oh my gosh I hope no more than 2........but if so God knows what He is doing....the funny thing is, my midwife was actually concerned about the hcg level not doubling....We were actually worried that I could be miscarrying. that is why I went for an ultrasound yesterday.  We did not expect to hear we may be carrying twins.

well if your midwife would do some research she would know that after a certain level they even out and start dropping I think it's around 8-9 weeks......and with levels that high I'd say you're fine.....yeah my first u/s they said 1 second u./s they said 2 third u/s they said 3  but the third was really tiny.

Well, I'm not sure that I am all to comfortable with the midwife...it was an appointment that was given to me.....I would have much rather talked with a doctor.  My first u/s was one, and now with this one it is poss. two.......I will know more today after the u/s.

yeah they should be able to hear 2 heartbeats also.....or at least see them.....I'l do some checking if I can remember oh when and what levels hcg levels stop raising and just decreas.....but gosh any midwife should know that.....dont' worry it sounds like a healthy baby or two maybe....
