I had a m/c on Dec 3 and at my follow up appt with the dr today the said that my thyroid levels are off and I should talk to a specialist before ttc again. Has anyone ever heard of this??
Yes, you should definitely see a specialist about it. Thyroid levels can throw hormones completely off and cause many problems conceiving as well as weight gain, and fatigue. More than likely they will give you some medicine to keep it in check, and keep an eye on your levels through blood tests.
I have had thyroid problems for 3 years now. I am now 16 weeks pregnent and still having problems. My thyroid levels are off. The doctor said that I was lucky to have even gooten pregnant. You definetly need to stay on top your thyroid levels. I have mine checked every 4 weeks now until I have the baby. You need to see an endrocrinologist. Your thyroid effects sooo many different things. If they are off, it could really make you feel bad during this pregnancy and it even raises the risk to your child in certain areas.
