Took cytotec for miscarriage and am now showing a positive pregnancy test

Hello,

  I took cytotec for a miscarriage on the 12th of january, it is now the 23rd.  I called my doctor to find out if bleeding still was fine.  She said yes, but to take a pregnancy test.  I took the test and it came out positive.  I was wondering, if it came up positive could that mean that I might still be pregnant or does it just mean that the hormone is just still there.  The reason they gave me the cytotec is becuase they did not see a heart beat.  Is it possible that there was maybe twins and one was covering the other  I don't know Im just thinking of everything.  If there were twins could the cytotec have gotten rid of the one that did not develope and not the other, which is why im still showing a positive pregnancy test?  Anyways, I don't know im just curious.

it could be so many diffrent things, your best bet would be get a blood test and see if the hcg levels are riseing and go from there. good luck!!

When I was miscarrying the first time, my pregnancy tests still came out positive because of my hormones, but also I was told the baby had already passed when my baby was actually still there.  But who knows, I would just double check if I were you.
