Trying to get pregant

by roxygirl01, Jun 04, 2008 07:52PM
My husband and i are trying to get pregant for the past couple of months now with no luck. last month i was 6 to 7 days late from starting my period and all tests have come back negative that i took then. I have been taking a prenatal pill since Jan.08. I decided to get a ovaluation tester ( tracker that is daily for 20 days to test for the spike meaning that i will be ovaluating in the next 24 to 36 hours) i have been taking it f6 days past  from my last period so for 16 days now  with no spike. But on the box it says that the only this that can mess with the readings is if you are pregant or was , or if your on hormone treatment.  i am due to be on my period next week.
My question is that i thought if your cycle is 28 days you should be ovaluating 14 days later in the middle.. but i have pasted that and middle marker last week. What would you recommened i do?
thanks

The box forgot to mention another very important factor on why you could have no spike...you didn't ovulate.  Not every woman ovulates every month.  You can get your period and not ovulate, it is called an anovulatory period.  Good luck!

Hi Roxygirl01,

in regards to the ovulation thing, i am in the same situation.

I have been trying for a few months now (3) and am currently using an ovulation test kit. my cycles are 26 days, so i would think that i would ovulate on day 12. No sign of anything. Then yesterday (CD15) i got CM in the morning, cramps, and didnt like any food that i actually really love! So i took the test & it came up with a positive for me ovulating. I am due my period in 11 days, so i am ovulating really late!! the only other ting i can think of, is i am currently on anti-biotics for a UTI & wondering if that would make it a false positive for Ovulation, but have asked around & been told it shouldnt interfere with the Test. And becuase i got cramps & CM i am pretty sure i was ovulating.

So yes, technically it is suppose to be 12-14 days before your AF that you ovulate, but in some cases, you can ovulate early, later, or not ovulate at all!!

What CD are you on? (Cycle Day)

well since last month i was a week late i am suppose to start my period tommorrow. but since of last month i think next week. which is 28 days. but i was reading on another website that you aren't suppose to test in the am more like the afternoon or evening. but i just read everything on the box and i doesn;t say anything about that, all it states is that it needs to be around the same time every day.

Yep needs to be around the same time each day.

I did mine yesterday about 6pm (AUST TIME) & it came up straight away!

If you are 28 days (i know your not regular) then try testing from day 8-9. I mean look at me - i only have 26 day cycles and im ovulating this month on CD15-16! so you could ovulate possibly on CD15-18 (your AFlonger than mine so + 2 days).

Just keep testing with the Ovulation Tests & if nothing the whole month, you might not be ovulating!
