Ultrasound Question

by kellie2003, Nov 06, 2009 06:09PM
Today I went in for my first ultrasound. I though I was 11 weeks and 3 days but the Ultra sound Tech had told me I'm 10 weeks and 6 days and tomorrow I'll be 11 weeks. So I'm off by 10 days. I know for sure my LMP was on August 19, 2009 so what had went wrong? And accurate is the TECH. Any one had this problem before and found out the tech was wrong? please help me

It is normal for dates to be off by as much as 2 weeks! Implantation of the fertilized embryo can occur between 7-12 days post ovulation. Also conception itself is always an estimate as even if you knew exactly when you ovulated the embryo could implant late.

I wouldn't worry about it whatsoever. My dates were off with my first two pregnancies (the second of which was off by 2 1/2 weeks!).

completely normal mine was the same way. think i ended up being a week off. it all depends on when your baby implanted and what size they are. its bound to change at your next ultrasound too because every baby grows differently. nothing to worry about.
