Uterine polyps

Uterine polyps

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with this?  I had an ultrasound yesterday, and was told that it looks like I have one and will need to get it removed.  Just wondering other people's experience with this.

I know they are estrogen "fed." But I did find this.. I saw your post earlier, I just don;t knwo that much about them, but I thought you would find this interesting?

"Complications
Whether uterine polyps lead to infertility remains controversial. However, if you have uterine polyps and you've been experiencing infertility, removal of the polyps might boost your fertility. In one study, infertile women who underwent surgical polyp removal (hysteroscopic polypectomy) had much higher pregnancy rates — 63 percent versus 28 percent — after intrauterine insemination (IUI) than did women with uterine polyps who underwent IUI alone.

Uterine polyps also may present an increased risk of miscarriage in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). If you're undergoing IVF treatment and you have uterine polyps, your doctor will probably recommend polyp removal before embryo transfer. "

I know you have been ttc, and I think removing the polyp will be a step in t he right direction! =)

((hugs)) and sorry I am not that helpful!

Thanks for responding. :-D  Well, I'm definitely getting mine removed, and hopefully, it will make a big difference in my fertility.  I was wondering if anyone had experience on how they are removed, etc. . . I guess I will head to google .:-D

I went in for a uterine biopsy yesterday and instead my doctor found a polyp the size of a quarter had just dropped from the opening of my cervix. It had not been there 11 days earlier during my routine pelvic exam. He removed it right then. The actual removal was uncomfortable but not really painful. I cramped a lot yesterday and today I am extremely sore. He told me it would take 5 days to heal from it. We are hoping this was the cause of my irregular bleeding. I am beyond my child bearing years, age 46. I have two children and had no problems getting pregnant either time. Good luck.
