im 36 wks,,,ive been gaining alot of weight...(accordingly to my doc) i gained almost 6 lbs a week in the last few weeks,. i dont eat bad, i exercise , i go swimming everyday , we think its water retention, oh! and my hubby is 6"7 300 lbs, so it is going to be a big baby ...anyways, my doc told me that at 40 weeks if i dont have the baby , he will induce almost 2 weeks later...what do u ladies think of it? is that nuts considering that im gaining all this weight???
p.s. i was 155lbs when i got preggo , now im 201 lbs
naw... most doctors are like that.. Unless you develop toxemia or some other condition this is totally normalNormal saline flush for a pregnancy.. I know lots of womenWomen's way who didn't give birth til 42 weeks :o) And in the last few weeks of pregnancy you don't gain any weight.... acutally alot of womenWomen's way loose it
My dr said the same thing when I was pg with my dd. Only difference is she told me that at my last dr app. and i was 4 days away from my due date. I cried......lol. But my dd came right on her due date. Maybe they do it to see if it's gonna happen on it's own, I dunno. Good luck
They don't let you go 2 weeks over your due date, that's why he said he would induce you if you go two weeks over! It's standard medical practice now a days!
I wouldn't worry to much about the weight gain though, if he isn't concerned about it. Like you said with your man being that tall and that heavy, it's likely going to be a big baby! And water retention happens, and *****! Good Luck!
I do think is a bit nutts if they think your baby is going to be big to want to let go 2 weeks over. When a baby gets to be over 9lb the risks of complication druing labor go up.
I know you have to meet certain guidlines before they will induce you. and some of them are littel bit different if it is your firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc child. I don't know what they are when it comes to weight gain. My sister has diabetis and they told her that if the baby got to nine pounds before she was due they would induce her. I hope you will be one of the people that can go into labor on your own and that it will happen before you are due. I was never that lucky was always late and had to get induced. Good luck
Oh you poor thing! I would have been sooo mad lol if my dr was trying to make me wait until 2 weeks after my due date! Lets just hope you go naturally sooner and that you dont even have to deal with that..... Good luck!
My OB/midwife won't think about inducing until 39 weeks and then they only do that if there is a problem. So if baby isn't too big, my OB would probably make me wait it out too. I hope I don't make it to 42 weeks! They already moved my due date once. Original due date I am 36 weeks 3 days, but with this one I am 34 weeks 2 days - I am already 2 weeks behind, 2 more weeks would kill me!
I'll tell you what.. there are plenty of doctors who won't induce until 2 weeks past the due date and there are plenty of times that this doesn't cause any problems. My doc told me the same thing... they knew I was going to have a big baby, but they still weren't going to induce me until 42 weeks (on the off-chance that I made it that long). I wasn't worried about the weight gain, but I was worried about the size of the baby and the health risks that can come with waiting. Luckily I had my baby girl only 1 day past my due date... but the doctor who delivered my baby even told me that it was good I didn't go much past my due date b/c there was already a large quantity of merconium in the amniotic fluid. It will be different for each and every womanWomen's way/pregnancy... I just know that for my next baby, when they tell me that I "have to" wait until 42 weeks, I'm going to insist that they induce me ON my due date. I ended up having a c-section with a 9 lb 6 oz baby (can you imagine what another 2 weeks would have added).
I'm not trying to worry you, but I think you should talk over your concerns with your doctor if you really don't like the idea of waiting that long... it's YOUR body (you can always get a second opinion too).
My doctor let me go to 42 weeks and having gestationalGestational diabetes Gestational trophoblastic disease diabetes so my son was 8lbs 14ozs with a few issues he had a punched lung and he had an infection in his blood
It was also hard to get him out,
I also hemorrhaged real bad, I guess the longer they are in the more problems they will have.
I hope it all works out for you and the little one :)
