Whats the consequences for a RH- 25 yr old female that didnt receive a Rhogam shot after a miscarriage that happend 4 yrs ago??

by HolliBerri, Nov 04, 2009 06:22PM
I am 25 years old & RH- and have never had a successful pregnancy but my question if anyone happens to know the answer is that when i miscarried which was about 4 years ago the clinic I went through for the aftercare of failed to give me a Rhogam shot and so I'm concerned now that me & my fiance are trying to get pregnant & knowing that I didn't receive this injection I didn't know since it has been so long if i still should go get the shot or no? And also will this cause any future problems for me in the future because we have been trying for 6 months to get pregnant with no birth control & have had no luck so i didn't know if that could be a reason?  If anyone could shed some light on this for me id really appreciate it!

Well the Rhogam (or lack of it) won't affect conception. But I would definitely go get a shot now.

Also know that it can take 6-12 months for a couple to conceive. Keep in mind that you ovulate about 2 weeks BEFORE your period, not after a period unless you have a typical 28-day cycle. GOOD LUCK!

if the miscarriage was early there probably wont be any problems from it.  Do you know if your husband is also rh -.  My last miscarriage was at 6 weeks and the doctor said it was early and rhogam was not needed but luckily we found out my husband is also rh - and now i don't have to worry about it.
