When to TTC again

When to TTC again

I just had a miscarriage, last Thursday. I was done bledding after 10 days, I went in for one last u/s to make sure everything was cleared out, everything looks good and my levels are back down. I dont need a d&c!!! WHOO!!!
That pregnancy was not planned, I really had no intentions on become pregnant at the time, however after I found out that I miscarried, all I wanted to do was get pregnant again. I have found the more time that goes by the less I want another...
My husband work overseas and is in for 28 days and then home for 28 days. He is leaving on the first and will not be home again until March the 11 (my birthday) because he took extrat time off.
How much do you chances go up for gettng pregnant after a miscarriage? Should be trying 'all the time' until he goes back to wrok?  I still want another baby, I am just afraid that if I wait to long I will decide I am not ready, I know I am I just have my good and bad days...
I was actually happy when I found out that I was pregnant, I just thought I was not ready, but is ever 'really' ready for it all??

I'm sorry for your loss.  My husband and I were TTC when he had a m/c, so we were anxious to continue TTC after.  My doctor recommended waiting one cycle before TTC again.  You will hear some people say 3 months, which my doctor said is usually due to the emotions women go through.  Other people will say it's ok to TTC right away.  Honestly, husband and I TTC after my first period came after the m/c (8 weeks later) and my cycle was so screwed up ever since the m/c that it took about 4 months to conceive.  I don't know if it was from the m/c or what, but I was having issues with not ovulating but once we figured out what was going on we conceived that month.  One thing I can tell you, is that not one day went by that I didn't think about the m/c - until I found out I was pregnant again.  Then came more worries about another m/c, but 20% of women have a m/c and you can't necessarily explain why.  Your chances of getting pregnant again (accoreding to my doctor) don't change after having one or even two m/c's.  I think that you should take some time and talk with your husvand and decide what is best for you both right now.  Right now your emotions are all over the place and you just need to be aware of whether you want another baby to replace the loss of this one, or if you want another baby because you are ready.  Only you and you husband can decide if you are ready or not.  Best of luck with your decision and know we are all here for you :)

You're right- no one is ever 100% ready for a baby (whether emotionally or financially or whatever).

I know that after my miscarriages I wanted a baby extremely. Your chances do not increase. Every woman has a 20-25% chance of conceiving in a cycle.

You can begin trying after your next period. It took me 8 weeks to get a period after a miscarriage. Most women it can take 5-6 weeks.

Thanks ladies,
Even though that pregnancy was not planned we were both excited about it. My husband is 9 years older then me, so he was more upset about the m/c. I am the type of person that doesnt really get to upset about things I cant control. I wish I was still pregnant and feel like maybe if I did something different, things would be...
However I believe things happen for a reason.
My husbadn and I have talked about ttc again, we are hoping all will go easly. We have been together for 7 years, not once have we ever use any kind of birth contol. When I got pregnant with my son, at 18 he was a wonderful suprise!!! There has only ever been 2 times that I have fell asleep after being intamate, both times I have become pregnant.
I know that if it is the right time it will happen again, I am just really unsure about how I will feel if I do get pregnant, will I be thinking all the time about another m/c?? Will I blame myself if I m/c again??
How has everyone else felt about it?

Oh yeah, I forgot to add...
KM604 you said that your cycles were all messed up, how you know them fairly well before?
I have almost always been able to tell exactly when I ovulate or am going...Do you think it will still be the same or do all m/c change that kind of thing? I really hope that I still be able to tell, I think that knowing will help us a lot!!
I will keep everyone posted! I love reading everyone elses happy endings!!

First of all, a miscarriage is not your fault. I just want you to know that! It's so very easy to blame ourselves but for the most part it is out of our control.

I have gotten pregnant after a miscarriage and yes, you will worry more about miscarriage. But one miscarriage doesn't mean you'll miscarry again. The fact you have a child already is very promising!

TeddiH im so sorry for your recent loss.

İ have also just had a miscarriage.  Bleeding started 2 weeks ago and finally today it has just about stopped.  İ was nearly 6 weeks when it happened.  İ didnt need a d&c either.

My emotions are hitting the roof.  İ lost another baby 6 months ago at 9 weeks due to an ectopic pregnancy and i had to have an emergency op to remove my left tube.  İ want a baby so much and i want to ttc straight away.  But my doctor told me to wait 6 months because im young.  That made me crazy.  İ think my husband and i will wait for 1 cycle then ttc again.  When, if i become pregnant again i know i will worry all time time at least till i hear a heartbeat and the baby is developing in the womb.  But at the moment it just seems like a wish and a hope and something i cant reach at the moment.
İm sure my time will come and yours will too.  We just have to stay positive.

As for my periods.  My cycles were always between 31 - 37 days.  So just the waiting game now to see my my next cycle will arrive.  İ hope they are not messed up.

Baby dust to all those ttc.

I am sooo sorry for everyones losses as well!! Even though I am ok, I am still upset about it.
Thank you everyone for your replries and advice!
I think what has bothered me the most was that the baby was developing at the right stages and all, plus I heard the heartbeat!
I just dont want to wait, because my husband works away so much I am worried that it is going to take forever!!
Well thanks again everyone, happiness all around!!

Its easier to get pregnant after a miscarriage because everything has been "cleaned" out up there which leaves the perfect environment to grow a baby. I had a miscarriage at 6w5d after hearing a heartbeat 2 days before. My pregnancy as well was unplanned and I was unsure of how I felt about the whole thing. Well me and my ex only had sex maybe 4 times after my miscarriage (only one time without a condom) and some how magically I found out I was pregnant again (6 weeks after the miscarriage). I was so scared that I was going to miscarry again but I didn't and now I have a beautiful 1 year old.

I had to have a D&C after my M/c last year and my Dr. told me to wait 3 cycles before trying again.....He said that the chance of M/C is greater if you get pregnant before then if the embryo implants in the same spot as the M/C'd one was.....Anyway, I was 34 at the time and told him that I wasn't waiting!!  We started trying again right away./...it ended up taking 3 months anyway.......
Sorry that you are going thru this......
