Worried about my HCG levels??? Confused

by emmy1111, Jan 29, 2009 01:46PM
Hi, I am a bit worried about my hcg levels  i am 4 weeks 3 days pregnant and i had blood tests and my results were 60.8 progesterone and 194 HCG, I  looked on the HCG table and they seen to be fine according to that but when i spoke to my doctor she said the hcg is too low so i had to have more blood tests today to see if they are doubleing so now i am a bit confused. Has this happened to anyone on here before?

4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
is the general level for now.your progesterone is good,i wouldnt worry, everyones level is different, some are slower than other.doctors seem to tell alot of women this, personally i think its un called for.it gives expectant mothers alot of worry.have your blood taken again,im sure it will be fine,conrats...

I wouldn't worry about it either. It doesn't matter what your level is at but that it is doubling within the 48-72 hour time frame. Doctors even like to pretend its worrisome if your levels are "too high". You are right in the middle so I wouldn't be concerned.

I guess low levels are a big worry, it's making sure they double. Wait until you have your results and then let us know. I am sure you will be fine.

Good luck!

I agree, its not the level, its the doubling that is important.  Hang in there until your next results!

Hi Everyone, i had my scan today, i saw the sac and yolk sac. it only measured 4weeks 5 days though and not 5weeks 1day like it should have, i dont know if this is a bad sign or not but i have to go back next week for another ultrasound.

Emmy - it really comes down to the tech, the machine and about 100 other factors.  Being off on the size by 2 days is well within normal variance.  Keep happy thoughts...
