amoxicillin while pregnant??

Im 23dpo no AF and got BFN 21dpo. Yesterday I went to the doctor because I have a sinus infection and she prescrbed Amoxicillin capsules 500mg one every 8 hours. I haven't taken it yet for fear that if I am pregnant it would hurt the baby. So my question is has anyone taken amoxicillin while they were pregnant and everything was fine?

I probably wouldn't take it until I knew for sure if I was pregnant or not. I personally wouldn't want to risk anything. I was almost put on an anti-biotic for sinus issues....but I was already in the 2nd trimester and my doc said it would have been okay at that point. Thankfully I was just able to use natural methods to relieve my sinus problems. Have you tried just a nasal spray or warm water and salt for now?  It may help you until you find out! Good luck!!

I'm 35 weeks and I was perscribed amoxicillin last week for a bacteria infection. I was perscribed the same doses. I really wasnt worried about taking them while pregnant because I'm sure my dr. wouldnt have perscribed them if they did any harm. I just know you cant take amoxicillin while breastfeeding.

It is ok to take any antibiotic that your dr. gives you..Amoxicillian won't hurt your baby.... And if you don't take it, your likely to get worse and be more miserable.. I've had sinus infections before while I was pregnant, and that's what they gave me... it's perfectly ok, and won't hurt your baby.

16 weeks and just finished 10 days of amoxicillan for an uti, I was nervous too but it is safe and def safer than getting an infection

That's the only antibiotic that is OK to take while pregnant.....
