antibiotics, unprotected sex and birthcontrol

I have been on Trinessa for quite some time now and have just recently been having unprotected sex with my steady boyfriend. It's the season that everyone gets sick and i happened to be one of them. I was perscribed amoxicillin but i am scared to take it because i'm afraid of getting pregnant. My situation is a little complicated for a few reasons. We had unprotected sex aound the time i ovulated, he didn't pull out and it is now six days after the incident. My question is, is it possible for the antibiotics to counter act my birthcontrol? Also, does the fact that i had unprotected sex a week BEFORE taking the antibiotics affect my chances of getting pregnant? Please help. I don't want to take my antibiotics until i find an answer.

Certain antibiotics can interfere with the effectiveness of the pill. Just make sure that you use other protection e.g. condoms for the time that you are on the antibiotics and for 7 days following. Just searched your antibiotic on the net and that one does interfere with the pill. That was actually one of the ones I was on when I conceived so make sure you take precautions as it does happen! My partner and I thought it wouldn't happen to us!

I don't think that having sex before taking the antibiotics will affect your chances, especially considering it was a week ago. The pill that you are on will stop you from ovulating too.

I am pregnant now because the antibotics messed up my birth control tell your doctor who gave them to you they say if your on birth control and take antibotics it does void out your birthcontrol use a condom stay protected. Cause you can get pregnant this way I am. And it happened to me
