anyone recently off BC...

has anyone recently came off BC?? i am just wondering if you have had any symptoms. my cycle seems pretty normal as far as days. 1st month off BC...ovulated i think 14th-15th day, but started spotting the day after O and spotted until period started...about 11 days. this month i ovulated CD16, started spotting 6 DPO until period...about 5 days spotting this time. has anyone had spotting before AF after going off BC?? my cycles seem to be normal 27-29ish days...just wondering about the spotting. any other symptoms after BC would be helpful too:)

I did but mine wasn't the average BC.  I am nursing right now.  I just had a baby in June.  So my doctor had me on a progesterone only BC pill.  It's called the Errin tablet; AKA mini pill.  Anyway, it was causing me to bleed all the time; and not just spotting either.  I was really uncomfortable because I would have like a full blown period almost all the time.  When I would stop bleeding, it would only be for like 3 or 4 days and I would be right back at it.  I read this pill did cause irregular bleeding but should be spotting; not the heavy bleeding I was having.  So I stopped taking it.  My understand is that it can take a while for BC to get completely out of your system.  Your body is probably just trying to regulate itself.  But with the kind of BC I was on, I just stopped bleeding pretty much immediately and am now waiting to see when I have my first normal period after giving birth without the BC.  But I don't think it will take that long for me to start having regular cycles again because I really wasn't on the BC for very long.  How long were you on BC and are you ttc??

I stopped my BC at the end of Sept (2007).  I got my period 2 days (in October) early and I bled for 2 additional days (mainly spotting).  My November period is now 2 1/2 weeks late with no signs of it arriving.  I am also trying to figure off if the BC has anything to do with this..I have stopped taking BC before, I got the same reation but my period has NEVER been this late.  I have been getting BFNs on HPTs, I am going to the doctor today.

i was on BC almost 12 years and am kind of ttc. not preventing, but not trying hard. i have been charting temps for 1 full month and now started my second month. trying to figure a start date for my P also. i am just going by the first day i had bad cramps and back pain and not the spotting i guess. i was really sick for about a week and a half right after i went off it. i was on the nuvaring for about 5 years. AF was actually a couple days early both months off it...only like 1-3 days early, but still. i go to the doc monday for my yearly so i will ask him too and try to let you know. i have heard it takes up to a year to get BC out of your system fully, so i am sure that's it. i want to be pregnant and did everything perfect the last 2 months, so i am just hoping this month is the one. i just know that spotting before period can be related to luteal defects and am hoping it's not that. i guess i will have to wait and see what happens!
