carrying high or low?

by waitn838, Feb 28, 2008 04:19PM
ok im full of questions today but im just really uncomfortable today

i believe im carrying this preg pretty high...it seems like its flat around my pelvic area and then a big blob (sorry for the word choice)...its just everywhere above...and it feels like my skin is stretching right below my bbs...i know the baby is only going to get high as time goes on....

is this considered carrying high?

How far along are you?

by adawning4, Feb 28, 2008 04:24PM
Hey ya know I am not sure! I just remember the size of my belly with my daughter and than my son..... So I dont know really! But I did just read that you are addicted to salads and fruits and the heart rate is high.... I am hoping for another girl! When I was pregnant with my daughter I only wanted salads, fruit and cold cereal. With my son it was spicy all the way. You will find out probably before I will. So I am hoping that we both get GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck!

I am having a boy and carrying very low!  With my daughter, I did carry pretty high.  They way you carry though is just an old wives tale.  You aren't very far along yet to really tell if you will fill out more up top or down low.  But it does sound to me that you have a good chance of carring high.

Old wives tale or not...I carried my girls high and my boys low.  If you haven't already you can look under my pictures and see a pic of me at 9 months with my last girl and boy.  I gained less weight with my boy but looked larger and carried much lower.  I gained more with the girl but looked smaller and carried a little higher.  This time my uterus still seems very low ...and that's where I'm poking out more.  I think I have a pic up of me this time taken this week.  ALL the women in my family carry this way...boys low, girls high.  BUT it's different for everything family/person.  MomNPain looks like she's carrying high...the way you said...flat at the bottom then a bump further up and she's having a boy...

It sounds like you're carrying high to me because the way I describe my belly is the opposite. I have a big "blob" on the bottom and it seems like the area under my boobs is flat and them BAM!!! So yes to me it sounds like it's high. I know it's Old Wives Tale about the girl/boy thing, BUT I have heard nurses even say that it's very common that women carrying high mostly had girls, and women carrying low mostly had boys.  So..who knows, I don't necessarily base it on that, but it's common. I'm having a boy by the way =D
