csection pain 9 months after delivery?

by ziggysgrl0724, Jun 08, 2009 07:33PM
I am just posting this for ideas, and I know I am going to be going to the Dr. soon, but like I said just looking for ideas.  I had Adriana 9 months ago, and it was my 3rd c section, and the 4Th time the same scar had been opened(had a surgery when I was 5 in that area).  Now, I have had a pain right where the start of the incision is and it gets better then worse( it seems to get worse when I'm on my period)...I went to the ER last month for it(around my period) because it hurt and I thought I had appendicitis(learned it was way to low for that, lol.  SO, the ER doc did a pelvic exam and determined the pain is not near my ovaries or any other organ, but the pain is coming from tissue, and is in the place where the staring place for the incision is.  He said that he really thinks it a stitch that never resolved.  I am wondering if perhaps it is scar tissue, or something.  When you push on the area, it doesn't feel different, no bumps or anything, it just hurts.  Any ideas?

I still have pains 11 months after my c-section, I think in time it will go away. Mine opened up a few times for stitches to come out, but I think it will stop eventually.

I had 2 sections and still had pains over a year after the last one.  It always felt much worse during my period.  I would say that it took approximately 2 - 2.5 years before I felt completely back to normal, with no pains or pulling/tugging feelings.  To this day, every once in a great while, I'll feel like something is pulling there, but if it happens once a year, it's a lot!!  Since you've already had it checked out at the ER, I think you're ok, but if you still feel uncomfortable, make an appointment to see your OB.  Maybe he/she could explain to you what's going on in that area so that you'll feel more comfortable with it.  But it sounds like what you're going through is quite normal.
