Sometimes a heartbeat isnt seen until after the 6th week. Also, this early on into a pregnancy it would be very difficult to say "baby stopped growing a few days ago" because pregnancy dating by ultrasound isnt that accurate.
Do you have any symptoms such as bleeding or severe cramping that might indicate something was amiss?
Oh my goodness! You will NOT see a heartbeat this early. I am always appalled by the way miscarriages are often misdiagnosed. She has nothing to base it on and should not have said a word.
Seeing the sac AND fetal pole at that time is actually very, very, very excellent.
I am surprized the tech told you that, usually they just tell you what they see and let the doctor do all the diagnosis. I think you are still early and sometimes you don't even get to see the heartbeat till like 7 0r 8 wks. I know it's hard to play the waiting game, just try to stay calm and think postive.
