I am on clomid myself but that was only after 2 miscarriages in a row. My OB/GYN sent me to a reproductive endocrinologist and he determined that I have PCOS, so he put me on Clomid and IUI along with progesterone and HCG booster shots. I too, was very irregular with my period, I would skip months too. Maybe you should bring this up to your OB/GYN and see what he has to say about sending you to the RE. Good luck!

thanks I have been trying for over a year now.. and starting to get discuragged. so i think i will ask for clomid.. how long have you been taking clomid

I feel the same way.....very discouraged at times....but you need to keep your head up. After the two miscarriages, I thought there was no hope for me. This is my second cycle of clomid. They are only 5 pills per month. I took it last month and had an IUI, but it was unsuccessful (I think the timing of the IUI was off). I already finished my second cylce of clomid and actually got inseminated today and need to go back again tomorrow. I am keeping positive that this is the time and I will get pregnant!! Clomid works wonders for me. My problem is that my body doesn't ovulate and with Clomid it does, and it gives me more than one mature follicle per cycle.

if you dont mind me asking how much does all this cost.. the clomid and IUI.. incase i have to do it in the near future.

Sure...no problem. The clomid ranges between $20-$35 for 5 pills depending on which pharmacy you go to. The IUI is $500 each time. The first month I only had one IUI done, but this time the doctor wants to do it twice, so it will be $1000. I am sure every doctor is different too. I have heard of some doctors only charging $350. I also have to take progesterone suppositories which are about another $30 a month and the HCG Booster shots, which is about $70 each month......

well, I have only been on these fertilty cycles for 2 months. But have been trying to have a baby for a year already. I just started treating with the specialist 2 months ago, and I am hoping and praying that it works this time around because it is very emotionally draining.
