fluid in kidneys?

by kennedydp5, Feb 03, 2008 11:56AM
during my u/s on friday the tech said that she saw some fluid in the baby's kidneys but the doc said not to worry about it...  i've tried to find information on it and i always get info on fluid "around" the kidneys instead of "in" in the kidneys.  can anyone tell me what could be some reasons why this fluid would be there?  thank you!

How far along are you. I think that after 20 weeks maybe even sooner the fetus drinks the amniotic fluid and then pees it back out again. So, it could be that the kidneys are full of fluid this time since the baby was ready to pee it out. Here is a peeing fetus actually caught on u/s posted on utube.
