glucose screening

I have my glucose screening in the morning, and although I've done this in the past, I can't remember if it is ok to eat or drink anything other than water before having it done.  They never said anything when they scheduled my appointment, so I'm just curious.  Really don't want to fail and have to have the 3hr test since I can not stand the whole needle thing!!

They usually tell you to fast everything but water. You should usually start that at anywhere from 8PM-midnight and no later!

well then, I guess that piece of chocolate creme pie I've been craving is going to have to wait till tomorrow!!

I dont think you have to fast for the 1 hour.  They never told me to.  I wouldn't eat anything very high in sugar right before you go though.

i actually ate breakfast from mcdonalds about an hour before my 1hr test and i still passed!!!  :)  they told me i didn't have to fast...  i just couldn't drink my morning coffee (at least the way i like it anyway!).
