hCG levels doubled in two days but i am still spotting????

Hi I am 8 weeks pregnant and I started spotting pink, very small amount then it changed to red. I have had it for a 5 days now...went to the doctor Wednesday and my hCG levels were at 53,000 which they said were really good, but I was still spotting so I told them that and they had me come in today (Friday) and my levels are at 98,000 so they have pretty much doubled in two days....so that is really good...but why am I still spotting?? Could it be an infection of some kind? Please help!! Also, THANK YOU FOR ANY ANSWERS!!

some people spot in the beginning of there preg.. If your levels r doubling that is a great sign...

It's common to have spotting in early pregnancy, you need to worry if you have heavy bleeding and pain. Just make sure you stay hydrated, don't go overboard during the day, kick up your feet and relax when you have an opportunity. Your body is working hard right now, so take it easy!

it can be normal to have spotting in the first trimester and everything be ok as long as it is not bright red with moderate to severe cramping

I have not had any cramping and the spotting was light....Thanks everyone!! That makes me feel a lot better!!!! It has dwindled down quite a bit, actually I haven't had any today so far!  Thanks again!
