We had our first visit at 5-6 weeks and the doctor said he saw the G sac but nothing else right now. He ordered a HCG blood test and the first one came back at 60,000. 44 hours later it came back at 75,000. These numbers seem to be awfully high to be a blighted ovum which he said he thought we may have. He also checked my ovaries and tubes and said he saw nothing out of the ordinary. I just didnt think that with a blighted ovum my levels would be that high and still rising. I have had no bleeding and no early signs of miscarriage
You could be carrying twins! I think those numbers are normal....don't worry about it. I'm currently pregnant and I found out at 5 wks. My first level was 56, second HCG was 720, third was like 1600. I wouldn't worry...you want those numbers to GO UP!
Maybe. I just have been looking all over the web and have not seem many cases with this high HCG levels this early and not seeing at least a yolk sac. Thanks for the reply though. Any other thoughts be appreciated.
is still developing, it takes the body a while sometimes to realize the pregnancy is not progressing properly, so someone may not have any m/c symptoms for a while, if at all.
I know the 22nd seems forever away, but that visit will tell the tale, it's better to wait a little bit for another u/s, because if everything is all right you will see it immediately. If you go back too soon everything may look the same and you still won't know.
well the 22nd U/S showed us a heart beat with the baby measuring in at 7 weeks. Just wish the doctor would have waited to assume a blighted ovum until we got all the blood work and another u/s done. we were off our dates by a week or so. Due date is feb 7th 2010.
