hi, i am having the above exam done tomorrow whereby the will insert a catheter into my cervix and then inject some dye into my uterus to take a look at my tubes. i asked my doctor how the test works or if inned to take anything b4 hand and she said no. i having been doing some reading on the net and it says i should take something b4 hand for the pain. what should i do.

I had one about a year and a half ago and took some advil before hand that didn't help.  The actual procedure was very brief -but painful. I knew it was for a good cause and like I said - it didn't last long.  Bring a pad with you to the procedure b/c the dye will leak out of you and you won't be allowed to use tampons.  They can probably give you ones there but they'll be the huge hospital ones!  Hope you get good results!  The radiologist that did mine was able to review the results right there with me when he was done.
