hive hives EVERYWHERE

by lavenderinscence, Sep 03, 2009 09:14AM
ok, i know this is BECAUSE i'm pregnant. This is my third child, and also the third time I have broken out for absolutely NO reason in large, itchy pink and white hives. they are not flea bites, i have no allergies, there is no pattern ... they are randomly scattered all over my body. no one else in my family has them so i know they aren't fleas or anything (i don't have furry animals). When i went to the hospital for these exact things when i was pregnant with my younger son, the ER doc wouldn't even touch me ... she treated me like i had ebola or something. I was wondering WHY i'm getting hives being pregnant, and is there a home remedy or medicine i could try? i'm going to scratch my skin off.

You should see a dermatologist! Your OB should be able to recommend one for you.

I had the same thing.  My son is two and I still have marks all over where I scratched them open.  Unfortunately I can't tell you what it was in my case because my OB couldn't get me a dermatology appt until a month after I gave birth and by then they were gone.  There is some kind of rash that my OB said pregnant women, specifically, get but she said that what I had didn't look like whatever it was she was talking about.  Definately see a dermatologist and if you wouldn't mind, let me know what you find out.
