horrible morning sickness

by laura1985, Aug 22, 2009 09:16AM
okay ladies. im six weeks today. for the last few days i have had horrible morning sickness. i dont know why they call it morning sickness cause its lasting all day long. the doctor gave me some nausea meds for pregnant women but they dont seem to be helping. ive never had morning sickness before, so i am hoping this is a good sign?

eating something does seem to help, but only for about an hour and then i am sick again. i only throw up a little though. does anyone have any advice of something else i could try? is all of this normal?

btw, still no spotting or cramping. my appt is on sept 8th! hoping this time its not a blighted ovum and we see a baby!

I know...I don't know why they call it morning sickness either. I had it all day as well and it was awful!  Honestly, nothing worked for me except I would just eat whatever my body was craving, never tried to force anything. I would eat mostly carbs and couldn't drink water. I would drink iced tea watered down a bit. With my son, I tried candied ginger and it would only make me feel better for about 30 min. or so. This pregnancy, nothing worked.
I am hoping and praying Sept. 8th gets here quickly for you and that all is well!! Morning sickness is a good sign and is completely normal. If you have never had it before, then maybe it is a really good thing. With my 2 healthy pregnancies, I had horrible morning sickness, with the other 2 I hardly experienced any symptoms, so for me, it was always a good sign.

Sorry you are feeling this way - in many women MS passes by the 2nd trimester.

Some ladies made suggestions on a recent post on the same topic.  Hopefully something suggested in this post will help you:

Preggie Pops helped me.  Mine was so bad I couldn't eat.  You can buy them at baby's r us.

You can see here that it has helped others as well:
