hot showers

i thoroughly enjoy hot showers, especially in the winter time.  since i've been pregnant, i get nervous everytime i shower.  i try to keep them under 10 minutes and have been careful about where the water hits....for example, i try to let it fall on my shoulders and head rather than low back and tummy.  does that make a difference or is the steam a bigger issue?  this is my first pregnancy and i have been over analyzing everything!  any support appreciated!!!

I think it's how high your internal body temp gets, I love hot showers too, its really cold here on the upper east coast. I try to keep them just warm enough. I think you can tell when it's too hot.

Oh I've been takin hot showers and now will ususally stay in there for like 20-25 minutes.  I can tell my body's had enough hot water, I start to feel, well hot.  At first the hot water feels so relaxing and I don't want to get out but after like 20 minutes that's when I'm like okay now I just feel hot.  But I think hot showers are perfectly fine, at least with my experience.

That's what I like about this website, there's always somebody that's going through the same thing...  Sometimes when I sneeze I feel like it harms the baby when it's simply harmless at all you know?  Or if you strain to much while using the bathroom that the baby can come out.  Little things like that I have so many questions about it too. But the good thing is there's always somebody on this forum that has been through it , you know?  Well if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. I'm no expert but I can tell you some things from my experiences. Good luck on your pregnancy.  How far along are you by the way?

i am very early along...4wks5days.  my first doc appt will be on the 15th.  i cannot wait till be thru my first trimester!  i hear so many sad stories on here about empty sacs and m/cs, etc that i am just hoping that everything will be okay.  all of those worries that you just stated, i have worried about too!  i guess motherhood begins before the baby is even born :-)  thank you so much for your support!

It's perfectly fine to take a hot shower..... I used to hear that all the time, but believe me honey when your between 5-9 months pregnant and your lower back is killing you and your feet are swollen... A hot bath or shower is going to be your GODSEND!!!! *LOL*

No problem hon.. Beleive me when you've had 3 kids... That's like heaven sent angel!!!! A NICE HOT BATH TO RELAX!!!!!!! keep me posted on you and baby!

i will keep you posted.  today i have the most miserable gas ever!  i'm not sure what to do about it, so i just sit and suffer.  but i don't care, i am still floating in the clouds!  

how have you been doing??  i know you weren't trying for your 4th, but after this recent m/c, have you and hubby thought about trying again?
