how long duz sperm live?

sum1 plz help me........ They say a mans sperm lasts 5-7 days inside u, but with age a mans sperm diminishes. I had intercourse with my ex who is 40, i am 24, but we slept 2getha rite afta my period had finished, could i b pregnant with his child even tho i waznt ovulating? I have bin with my current partner a yr and he is 20 an we have intercourse almost everyday, wat r tha chances of me being preg to my ex?

If you JUST finished your period, i don't think you would get pregnant since the ovulation already happened at least 14 days ago. You have to be careful girl!

sperm can live up to 5 days in the right environment.  You need to ovulate in order to have a chance of the sperm getting to an egg.  If you had sex with both of them  and there is an egg waiting, its a matter of which sperm makes it threw the journey and which one fertilizes the egg.  If you were preggo, you would not no for sure who the dad is until you did a paternity test.  Its 50-50 on who the father would be.

yeh i am preg, but tha docs said it wouldnt have bin conceived with me x bcoz tha dates dnt add up. I am due aug 13 an slept with my x nov 6. It waz a real bad thng that happened between me n him n him n i regret it every day

You CAN get pregnant right after your period ends. You can even become pregnant while on your period if you ovulate early enough.

Your dates can be off by as much as 2 weeks in pregnancy due to implantation time and because sperm can live about a week in the vagina. So a DNA test is the only way to go if you're trying to figure out who could be the daddy.

well i had my 1st appoint at tha hosp yest, n they have calculated my conception date as 20 nov, which means my period came sum tym in tha first wk of nov, othawise if i did conceive on nov 6 2wks prior they said they would have counted ut from my oct period, is that rite?

Is the due date of aug 12th going by your last period or did you have an early ultrasound to give you a date? The older man could still be the father. The only was to know for sure is to get a dna test.

As people have said you need to be ovulating in order to concieve (conceive).if  you have short cycle,then its posssible to become pregnant,just after a period Not during.but if you have sex whilst having a period and say ovulate within few days after you stop bleeding then its possible.sperm can survive up to 7 days inside you but in truth its normally only 3-5 days.and it has to be in the right enviroment.if you have hostile mucas for instance then the sperm would die off.I agree a DNA is the only way to know for sure.

i waz told i would have trouble conceiving due 2 ovary probs, but yeh aug 12 is going bu tha firsy day of last period, my periods only eva last 5days at most. Apparently i conceived around nov 20, so many dics have said, i just like to get otha ppls opinions. Thanx heaps 4 helpn me out girls xx

If they haven't done a sonogram to date your pregnancy yet, then there's no way to know for sure if your due date or conception date is accurate.  By going off of your LMP, the docs are assuming you ovulated 14 days after your period started. That's not always true. Many women ovulate much later or earlier than that. When you have a sonogram it should be more accurage at determining how far along you are and when you conceived.

It sounds like the days they are giving you it would most likely be your boyfriends but as people have said before if they went by you LMP it's not as accurate as if they would have done an ultrasound and dated from that.  The only true way to know 100% (and to put you mind at ease) would be to do a paternity test.  Good luck to you.

thanku all 4 ur advice, i spoke 2 an obstitrition, who specialises in all ths. He gaurantee'd me it would b my bfs, bcoz i have a regular period which comes by tha end of tha first wk of every month, so he said my ovulation is always between tha 17th and tha 22cnd of every month. He said i would not have ovulated tha day my period finished and if it waz my ex's they would have coynted 2wks bak from tha 6th nov. So i am trusting his word bcoz he no's best
