I went two full years breastfeeding, both my oldest daughter and son till they were both one, back to back.  I didn't even get my first period until I had it and got pregnant for the 3rd time.  That was 2 months after I stopped breastfeeding.

Hahaha   Have you gotten yours?  I've heard of some who have gotten a period while breastfeeding.

I got my period when Noah was about 7 months old, I was still breastfeeding but obviously he was eating solids too.

I got my period when Jeremiah was 8 weeks old. Came back like clockwork!! Every 28 days since then. Crazy I know! My mom always got her period back 6 weeks after she gave birth. I guess it just runs in my family...no breaks here... =(

At 6 weeks I got Mirena and even though I was breastfeeding I would still get my period. Very randomly and never knew when it was coming, but I would get it.

You know, that is a good question!  Maybe ask your doctor?  I was told from the get go not to expect it till about 3 ish months after I finished breatfeeding.  It could just be your body kicking back into gear, or it could be....uh who knows.  Hahaha had a train of thought and lost it.

Well, atleast you can keep track so you know when you ovulate to avoid that time sexually.  =)

LOL

not always though.  I got pregnant with my son WITHOUT a period, while breastfeeding ahaha

I was thinking about this last night, and I know that I have like 2 day periods and they are so light I don't need anything more than a light tampon.  Maybe what triggers the bleeding during breastfeeding is if you have a normal heavy period, it comes back, but maybe not.  I'm not sure, but I am even going to ask my doctor when I go in to see him cause this has me curious ahaha

I had Jaiden 3.5 weeks ago ... I had pretty much stopped bleeding from the delivery around 2 weeks, but still had some discharge.  Sunday I noticed bleeding again ...but this was different than before ... OMG, I think Aunt Flo has returned!  lol

I had read of so many women not getting their period for months while breastfeeding, so I didn't expect to see her so soon.  But apparently my body is all about getting back to business.  After my miscarriage last year, my body did the same thing.  It didn't skip a beat.

I'm actually pretty glad it showed up tho, because I know I'd worry my head off not knowing when to expect it (and then worrying if I'm pregnant again!).  I went 10 months without it ... I guess I can welcome her back.  =D

I breastfed my son for 15 months and didn't get it until 2 months after I stopped nursing him.

I've had 5 kids and breastfed everyone of them and it has varied from child to child.  I did have my period return right away after baby #3.  I bled for 6 weeks after giving birth.  I stopped bleeding for 2 weeks and then started getting regular periods after that from the time she was only like 8 weeks old.  And she was exclusively breastfed.

I mean, the norm is that breastfeeding does delay ovulation, thus delaying your period.  But you never know when it's going to return and by the time it does, it could be too late because if your period comes, that would mean you ovulated 2 weeks prior.  This is also why and how so many fall pregnant while they are nursing.  So many people think that you can't, but that isn't true at all.  You def. can.  Once ovulation is happening again, you can get pregnant, nursing or not.

I never did but I only nursed for 2-3 months so I didn't have much of a chance to get it during that time!
