hydrocephalus

im having twins but 1 of them may have hydrocephalus we're going for a 2nd opinion before we make any decisions but i wanted to know the possible disablilities the child may be born with

I am so sorry that you are faced with this. I do not know anything about hydrocephalus, but I do know someone who was told they were going to have a baby with hydrocephalus and were given the option to terminate. They decided to have the baby and it turned out to be a perfectly healthy baby girl. It's good you are getting a 2nd opinion. Sometimes the tests are not 100% accurate. Best of luck to you.

Hi hun!  First let me say I'm sorry you're having to go through this.  I have an aunt that was born this way. They said she'd never make it past 12 yrs old after she was born,and she turned 46 last year!  Sure it's been hard for her.  She had tubes put in around her ears to help drain the fluid out of her head when she was born.  She went to school but she eventually quit. They said she was about 5% mentally retarded.  She had to wear glasses but eventually went blind.  Now she is one of the most caring people you will ever meet.  Such a special person!!  My aunt is truely a miracle!   Oh and she was born premature.  She only weighed 2 1/4 lbs when born.  Definitely a fighter!    

I really hope and pray everything turns out okay.  I'd be getting a 2nd opinion as well!!  I hope this helps some. Please let us know how everything goes!
