ive just found out i have a large 7cm by 7cm cyst on my left ovary and im 6 wks pregnant
they said they would re-check at 12 weeks
im worried what if it grows bigger ?
can they be dangerous to me or the baby ?
is waiting another 6 wks ok ?
can they cause cancer or anything else ?
usually you get a cyst called a corpus luteum cyst which like Joy says helps create the hormones for a healthy pregnancy. the doctors will measure it and make sure it does not grow too much and starts to get smaller after the 13 weeks mark. but if it does not, they usually will remove it after you give birth.
So it's probably a luteal cyst and those are NOT a problem. Every pregnant woman has one in the first trimester.
