low levels of HCG hormone in early pregnancy

by heidi231, Oct 04, 2009 07:38AM
My last period was on 5/9/09 and my cycle is usually 28 days. So my period was late and i did 2 blood pregnancy test on 3/10/09. The first was negative and the other test done later on the same day was 23!. Is this level ok given my last period and that 4 months ago, i also had a pregnancy with very low levels of HCG that led to miscarriage after 1 month so i am afraid to have the same thing now

My doctor advised me to take duphastone every 8 hours and check again after 2 days to see if the HCG doubles or not. Can anyone advise as I am very frightened to have miscarriage again

It could have been that your body never really got back into the game after your miscarriage and got pregnant when your body straightened out. Just do what the doctor says and have your levels checked. Just because you had one miscarriage doesn't mean that you will have another! Good luck!
