I have been taking xanex and percocet for medical reasons for a year and a half .....all the doctors are telling me different things. I do feel dependent to them. Are they safe during pregnancy if not I am 6 half weeks can I taper off I take about 7 percocet 7.5 a day. The xanex I am not taking no more. I didnt really take it only for panic attacks. The percocet I am afraid the withdraw will hurt the baby.I have serios back problems 4 car accidention and fell down steps also have scoliosis. What should I do and how should I deal with it

i would recommend speaking with your doctor about getting off the medication. Drugs like that can have effects on the fetus. You can always reduce your dosage so that you dont harm the baby. Slowly is the best way so that you dont have severe withdrawls symptoms which could also harm the baby. I HIGHLY ADVISE SPEAKING WITH YOU OB-GYN BEFORE TAKING SUCH STEPS!!! and do your research on the medication, and keep in mind that your baby will be addicted to this drug when he or she is born, and while you are in labor it can cause breathing problems for you and your baby. The drug may also appear in breast milk which means you would also be giving the drug via breast feeding to your baby if you decide to breast feed
