missed 3 pills, pink spotting 4 to 5 days after (after intercourse) help??

by bethenyxx, Sep 16, 2009 12:34AM
I started my new pack of Trinessa last Sunday. I didn't take Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as the alarm set on my phone failed to go off and it totally slipped my mind, yes I know, my bad.
during those days, don't recall when exactly, I had unprotected sex, maybe a couple of times.
About 4 to 5 days later, my fiance and I had intercourse again and afterward, when I went to use the restroom, there was pinkish spotting on the toilet paper. This is new for me. I have NEVER bled after sex before in my life. Not even when I lost my virginity. It wasn't "rough" either.
I don't think this is breakthrough bleeding from missing pills because normally, I don't start until my 4th day of inactive pills anyway, and I always assumed breakthrough spotting was almost like a period, just lighter than normal.
Could this be implantation bleeding?
On a side note, I was getting over a yeast infection the Friday before i started my new pack of birth control, but it wasn't a "nasty" one, and it wasn't bothering me at the time.
Could that be the reason for the one time pink spotting?
I'm just kind of confused at the moment.
Anyone have some answers or advice for me?
Thanks :]

In the past, even if I've missed one day, I have had spotting.  When you stop your pills at any point your body goes into period mode.  So it's definitly possible that it was your body just adjusting to you stopping your pill and thinking you should be on your period.  On the other hand, it doesn't rule out the fact that you could have gotten pregnant.  It's really hard to say.  Some women can get pregnant by just missing one pill while others don't.  So If you don't start your period when you are supposed to then I would take a test.
