possible miscarriage

by cladypayne, Jul 20, 2009 09:14PM
My first doctors visit I was 4 weeks (14 dpo). I had bloodwork done and recieved the results today with hcg levels of 81 and my progesterone level was 37. My doctor says my hcg levels are low and ordered more bloodwork. Could this be a possible misscarriage?

if you are only 4 weeks i would think that you would be okay. i HATE that they draw hgc levels. those things can be so wrong. my levels were really high with my last pregnancy and they told me everything looked good. turned out i had a blighted ovum.  you could also be earlier on in your pregnancy than you first thought.

try to relax (i know that is way easier said than done). if it is a miscarriage, there is nothing you can really do to prevent it. personally, i would wait another week and then go back. you should know something by then. do you have a history of miscarriage?

Your hcg levels are perfectly fine for 4 weeks.  Hopefully, they do another test in two days, so you can see if they are doubling.  Personally, I think those look just fine.
