postive test but I dont understand????

What I do not understand is I had what I thought was a period starting on August 2nd. I was not do for one until August 8th however it came. I thought it was another miscarriage I have had some symptoms before the bleeding had started and when it started I just figured it was a miscarriage. However, even now after I am done bleeding almost 8-10 days now, I am still having the same symptoms. Pinching feeling in the lower abdomen, bloating, feeling fat,very exhausted all the time. So anyway I just took a pg test today and to my surprise it was a very bright positive how is this? I do not understand how this is happening still. The last miscarriage I had the hormone was out of my system before I was even done bleeding! I do not understand. Any insight will help me out Thanks!

it could be that you are still pregnant or the hormones may not be out of your system yet i would go see a doc and have an u/s to be sure. Because some people still have af while pg. Because my mom had one until she was 6 mths and a friend just found out she was pg at 33 wks.

Because your AF came much earlier than you expected, it is possible that it was actually implantation bleeding and not a "true" period.  How heavy was the flow and how long did it last?  I would definitely make an appointment with a doctor just to be on the safe side.  GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

Many reasons:

1). Implantation bleeding

2). Some women will still have bleeding around the time of their period, even when pregnant

3). Some pregnant women just bleed (and it does NOT always signal concern or miscarriage).

Go get your HCG levels checked over the course of a few days!!! CONGRATS!

My flow started pretty sudden and light however day two came with full bearings! It was like a normal period but by day four it was gone! I thought it was really weird because I usually go for 6-7 days. I paid no attention to it though I just figured it was a miscarriage. Still today I still have all the symptoms. I am going to take another test on sunday and if that shows positive I plan on going to the doctors on Monday.

Just an update....I went and got a positive test result today I am six weeks pregnant I have an ultra sound on Friday!!!

Okay so I went to the doctors and they did an ultrasound, I am supposedly 6 5/7 weeks. However they did not see anything but fluid is this normal or could be normal?

it def could be way to early to tell...they couldnt see nothing with me either until i was like 9 weeks..i had my first at 6 and a half weeks also...its good that they saw fluid! I think its to early and im sure when they do a repeat ultrasound you will see your growing bean and a healthy strong heartbeat!!! CONGRATS....your preggers and good luck during your nine months pf pregnancy.....oh i forgot to mention after 9 weeks everything was good..lol..im now almost 25 weeks! lol

I really hope you are correct!!! They did see a little bit of fluid in my uterus but also a mass on my right ovary! They checked my levels...I do not know what they are until Tuesday! I go in the morning to check them again and then at one pm on Tuesday I will get all the results! The suspense is killing me!!!! I so want this baby terribly...I put it in the Lord's hands I guess. But thank you for giving me the hope I do appreciate it so much!!!!

same thing happen to me they didn't see anything till 7 wks with all of my pregnancies and now i have three healthy chirldren and the mass on your ovaries is probably a cyst i also had one too the dr told me that the cyst actually does a part in supporting the pregnancy so it was good that i had one and that is usually a positive sign also i wanted to tell you that i bled very heavy during all three of my pregnancies good luck and keep everyone updated

just an update. I went and got my levels checked on Friday and then again this morning. My levels on Friday was 366 and todays were 897! So i am obviously not 6 weeks, they are figuring more along the lines of 3-4 weeks. I still need to go again on Thursday and again on the 2nd. to get my levels checked and they said by the 2nd. we should be able to see something on the ultrasound as long as my levels keep going up as normal as they have been! I sure hope they do!!!! I usually miscarry right around my period time which is around the 31st. I should be starting so I just pray that I do not start and I am able to carry a health baby full term!!! I will post again Thursday evening to let you all know what my levels are then. I need all your prayers!!!!

you could still be 6 weeks you know!! My levels were only 83 when i was like four weeks...so it varies with every woman!!

Update
Got bad news today after I got my levels checked. My levels dropped down to 787 :( They said looks like I am miscarrying. I am hoping that she misread the results and didnt see the 1 that was in front of the seven!!! But I do not think so. I am not cramping or bleeding and still have the symptoms and I know I will until my levels get lower. I go on Tuesday to get my levels checked again and then in the afternoon I see what is going to happen next.

Well it is Monday and still no bleeding or cramping and still with symptoms. How likely is it that my levels will drop just that once and go back up? I read that it could happen but I am wondering how likely will that happen? It is just really weird because my last miscarriage I started to bleed before my levels even started to drop. I was bleeding for  like almost a week before my levels actually dropped. And now I have no symptoms of starting only those of pregnancy, and my levels dropped! Well I go tomorrow back to the doctors so I will let you all know what the results are and well I am sure you all know what is goin to happen but I will update tomorrow.

Big surprise today my levels went up!!!!!!!  They are up to 1844!!!!!!! I go on Friday for an ultrasound!!!!  lots of prayers please!!!!!

I had an ultrasound at the hospital tonight yesterday my levels were 1845 and tonight they could only see a sac but nothing in it   :(     I am very worried that this is a bad pregnancy!!!!  Has this happened to anyone before with levels being that high?

I went into the hospital because i was spotting a bit.....I am 4 weeks 4 days we think!!! They said my cervix was closed and that there was a sac but nothing in it yet. I am now spotting again....could this because of the vaginal ultrasound and them checking my cervix?

It very well could be from the vaginal u/s so I would not worry. Also it is very normal to not see much at 4 weeks I would request a second u/s in a weeks or two. Keep me up to date

At the hospital last night they checked my levels and I called this morning to find out what they were.The doctor told me they went down to 1400 something but said not to worry because he had another patient tha tdid the same thing and was actually went into surgery for an abnormal pregnancy and when they got in there the doctors realized it was not an abnormal pregnancy she was just really early, and she ended up going full term and having a perfectly healthy baby. So he said that not to worry to much with my levels because so far they have increase and it is just really early in my pregnancy. I on the other hand feel that it does mean something and it probably means that this is going to be an abnormal pregnancy. I actually go in tomorrow morning to get another u/s done. Im sure they will only see the sac again. I go again on Tuesday for another level check. I just really hope that the doctor is correct and this could very well be a normal pregnancy and this is all happening just because i am so early. All prayers will be appreciated I am praying so hard for this pregnancy to be good and we have a healthy baby!!!  I want this so bad!!!!

sometimes, they don't see anything at all till 7 weeks...keep your head up, and if the fluid levels are good, i'm sure you'll be fine....you were kinda right about the "1" in front lol.....it just took a couple days!!!

I just wanted to say thank you all for your support...However I had emergency surgery Friday because of a tubal eruption from an 8.5 week pregnancy. I didnt even find out it was in the tube until Friday and left the hospital at 2pm and by 6:30 pm I was back in the hospital in severe pain....my tube ruptured! I am home now and just sore. I really hope that everyone pays close attention to thier bodies. this turned out good for me but it could have turned out sooooo very bad! The way my levels were seemed normal except for the last one....the doctors just figured I was miscarrying.....Good Luck to everyone in their pregnancies!!!!!  Enjoy your blessings I have four children already so I am not to sad....glad I have had the chance to go through pregnancies and deliver four healthy babies......Kids are miracles no matter what!!!!! Enjoy every second cause the time goes by so very fast...our youngest is five now and I just can not believe it!!!  Thank you again!!  Best of luck to you all!!!
