What is My baby going to go through will she go through withdrawl and how bad will it be. And will I be able to breastfeed. I have been on subutex through my whole pregnancy.
Thank You Many questions with no answers or should i say no accurate answers
Many womenWomen's way have come on this forum and asked about medications and what will happen with their baby. Unfortunately it's really hard to say. I personally don't know what subutex is but no matter what you're taking (whether legal or illegal) your doctor NEEDS to know about it.
And all of the womenWomen's way who've asked about drugs in the past have all said, "I'm too embarassed to admit I'm reliant on a drug. I don't WANT to tell my doctor." All I can say is that the hospital will receive you and your situation MUCH BETTER if they know beforehand what to expect.
So next time you see your doctor, talk to them about this!
Okay I did a google search on the drug and I want you to know that it is pertinent that your doctor knows about this. They do test babies for drugs when they're born and your baby will have to go through withdrawals in the hospital. You might be able to breastfeed to help baby detox. But if you continue to take this drug you shouldn't breastfeed.
You really really need to make sure that your doctor knows that you are on this because your baby could have very serious withdrawls! Please talk to your doctor to see what to expect once the baby has arrived!
