trying to conceive

by bcrisis53, Nov 23, 2007 10:51AM
I've been trying to conceive with my husband this month and yesterday to celebrate the holiday I had two small shots of tequila, not enough to get me drunk of course, and I don't even know if I might be pregnant, but would the small amount of alcohol affect the baby at that stage if I was?

There is alot of contraversy over this subject... I didnt find out i was pregnant untill i was 4 weeks already .. which is quite a common time period for most women...
I Drank Rye and Coke every day after work ( untill i found out i was PG ) and i smoked 10 a day!
I have since not done any of those things and according to all the tests and ultrasounds my baby is just fine and growing perfectly...

However i have just read that i tiny bit of alcohol can effect you child... its so tiny compared to your body and what you put into you body your baby gets too... it might be ok for you but this tiny little thing which eats and drinks everything that goes through your blood cant handle it becuase its system isnt build for those things yet.....

Just dont drink anymore but dont worry many people do all sorts of things before they findout there PG and everythings fine!

alcohol in that small of quantities on one occasion won't hurt the baby.  Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is caused by frequent drinking.  Many women consume alcohol before they are aware they are pregnant and go on to have healthy babies.  Good luck ttc
