by elisha123, May 22, 2009 09:08PM
well everywhere i read says its healthy to gain about 3-5 pounds during the first trimester and so on ect..well i keep lossing weight and i just wanted to know if thats normal.. is that even healthy..anyways befor i got pregnant i was about 142lbs give or take a pound depending on when i weight myself and now im down to 134, i was a little sick the first few weeks but that was only until week 8 and by then i had only lost like 2 pounds since week 8 ive only been sick once or twice but i am still loosing weight like almost everyday or everyother day it goes down again and im worried its gonna keep going down...
ive even up'd how much ive been eating thinking that maybe im just not getting enofe cals in a day but still cant manage to put any weight back on or even keep it stable at what im at now.

i know it might seem kinda funny asking how i can gain weight cuz most women shutter at the thought but i just want to make sure im staying healthy ya know!   if anyone can give me any advice on this that would calm my nerves a bit this is the farest ive gotten to in any of my pregnancys and i just want to make sure im doing everything right that i can.

anyways sorry about the long rant lol

You shouldn't worry unless your doctor says something about it. I am 22 weeks now and actually measure 26 weeks and I have only gained about 6 pounds, (I look so huge though). I've actually been losing weight while my baby is growing and gaining and my sac of waters is growing.
Just something my doctor tells me: someone under weight should gain about 45 pounds during pregnancy, someone just right should gain about 35, and someone overweight should gain about 25. That's all depending on your hieght and everything compared to your weight but you should try to find out where you stand and go from there. I'm actually overweight. I just had a son almost a year ago and am 5 months pregnant now and I went through a time where i ate a LOT when my son passed so I'm walking all I can (healthily,  without causing harm to my baby) so I can try to keep as much off as possible. Anyway, it's not a horribly bad thing to lose weight while pregnant but you should maybe ask your doctor about it.

I agree...dont worry about your weight unless your doctor does.  I am 20 weeks and am still about 8 lbs below where I started.  Just remember that your body is working alot more than it was now that you are making this little one!!

Don't worry.  I am 30 weeks and have only gained 7.5 pounds.  Doc isn't worried as baby is growing nicely.
