DOnt worrie about it....But I think its about 15-20pounds right away......But it could be different per person....With my 1st( i gained 42) I lost 15pounds right away. With my 2nd (i gained 18lbs) and lost it all. I never lost all of my weight from my 1st baby, I ended up gaining some weight between pregnancy, we had a loss and I gained 15pounds from that, So just another 15pounds to go and I will be at were I was Pre-pregnancy.....

With Noah I gained a total of 35-40 pounds and only lost 3 when I got home. I was excessively swollen so it took a while for my water weight to go down.
I wasn't really concerned with loosing the weight right away since I was nursing I was just making sure I was keeping my milk production up. When Noah was about 7 months I started doing the weight watchers points system while breastfeeding so I was allotted extra points. By the time Noah was 10 months I had dropped 30 pounds. By the time Noah was 15 months I was smaller than I was when I got pregnant.

Pregnancy weight gain: 40Ibs
"Immediate" weight loss: 20 Ibs in 2 weeks
Weight loss 6 weeks postpartum: ~28 Ibs.  Only now am I taking measures to actually aid weight loss though.

BTW:  I breastfeed exclusively which can burn upto 500 calories/day

Sorry - the third line should read weight loss 6 MONTHS postpartum (not 6 weeks).

I gained 80lbs with my first pregnancy, yes 80lbs! I don't know how much I lost immediately after giving birth, but I breastfed exclusively for 18 months afterward. Six months postpartum I was back in a size 6 and hadn't really worked out. Then I started taking Bikram Yoga religiously 7 days a week. It is the hot yoga- 90 minutes, 105- 110 degrees and 40% humidity. That, combined with nursing, made me melt into a size 2 within another month. It also helped my stomach get really tight and smooth again. I also wore spanx after my pregnancy to help smooth my figure....

Pregnancy weight gain: 35 Ibs
1st week: 11  lbs
3rd   week weight loss: 20 Ibs
Still need to loose 15 more lbs, but Im taking it easy, since Im exclusively breastfeeding.
Just take it easy, dont stress about it too much.

Its kinda like stretch marks, its all about genes and how much effort you put in after you have your baby. If you have a high metabolism and are naturally skinny then you'll be back to your pre-pregnancy weight in no time without even having to lift a finger. However if you are not it could take more time and effort and lots of working out.

I think Alaysha is right although that is probably not what we all want to hear...I have a hard time losing weight...I have to diet strictly AND religiously work out for at least an hour a day...SO I honestly know that I will have to work hard to get back to my old self.  BUT I am optimistic because I have lost tons of weight in the past so this should be no different except the breast feeding thing which I hope will help out!

At night after Aspen would go to bed I used to have her dad watch her while I went to the gym for like an hour or two. It didn't really "disturb" him because she was sleeping the whole time I was gone and if she woke up early he would call me.

The only work out I did was pushing Noah in his stroller. Db and I would go for long walks almost everyday.
