whats the chances of miscarriage after you have seen a heartbeat at 7 weeks-history of 4 miscarriages back to back

by xxangel, Dec 19, 2008 06:50AM
hiya everyone...
i was just wondering what the odds of miscarriage are after a heartbeat is seen on the baby at 7 weeks 1 day..?? i have a history of four miscarriages back to back and have NEVER seen a heartbeat before this time...this is my 5th pregnancy and the only time me and my husband have seen a heartbeat :) i heard that miscarriage rates drop dramatically after a heartbeat is detected, however i just read that woman with  a history  of recurrent miscarriages ,the odds dont drop they stay the same

im on 400mg cyclogest progesterone once daily and 75mg baby asprin 1 daily and im taking my prenatals

any help would be so great right now
thanks

Hi Chloe,

very sorry for your losses.

I can't say for sure about your prospects, but seeing that you never saw a heartbeat in the earlier pregnancies but are seeing one now, I'd say that things are looking up for you.

Sounds like you are doing all you can.

Wishing you and your baby and hubby the very best.  Keep us informed and try not to be too stressed.

I have heard that once you see a heartbeat the chances fall below 2%. Hang in there and best wishes for som sticky baby dust!!!

I had a miscarriage in June andI'm pregnant again 8 weeks.  In June I didn't see anything in the u/s and this time I had a 131bpm heart beat on the u/s on my little bub at 7 weeks and so far this pregnancy is 100% different from the last one so I think my chances are very good after seeing the hb.
Hang in there.  The worst thing you can do right now is worry or think any negative thoughts.  Your chances of a healthy pregnancy is still greater than your chances for a mc.

Hi there im sorry for your losses,I have also suffered 4 mc, on 3 of them we never saw a heartbeat however on 1 we saw a strong heartbeat but i mc the following week,it does depend on your history, but satistics say that once a heartbeat has been heard the mc rate does reduce, try not to worry and enjoy your pregnancy.im sure you will be fine..

I sorry for your losses...I have had two mc one at 20 weeks and the other was a blighted ovum. SO when I got pregnant this time of course I was a nervous wreck. They is never a garauntee against mc just pray about it and if its your time it will definitely turn out right. I am sure that things will be fine this time. Congrats

Hi, I too, am  sorry for your losses. I had 3 MC's within 13 months (maybe a little less). I am currently 4 months preggo adn so far everyhting loks great. I saw a HB with only my second MC, but the other two, we saw none. Id say that is a good sign, pray about it, and TRY to relax and enjoy. (yea right i know lol) Good luck to you :)
