what's the possibility of pregnancy?

by ladym518, Oct 21, 2007 04:31PM
I have been on the pill for 11 years and with the exception a few times during the early years, I have always taken my pill at about the same time every night. Very recently, I had a particularly busy and stressful week and ended up doing either one of two things: I either took my last two active pills on the same day, or I simply took my last active pill early on the last day. I just cannot remember due to all that was going on. I had unprotected sex with my partner the day (Sunday) after I was to take my last active pill. I got my period three days later; the day I was expecting it. It lasted my normal length of about 5 days...no lighter or heavier than usual. I began my new pill pack on the Sunday on which I normally would begin. That was a week ago.

I realize that this may be complete paranoia, but since I've never messed up my pill schedule during the last week of active pills, I am concerned. What is the possibility of break-through ovulation from having possibly gone 8 days instead of the usual 7 without an active pill, having had unprotected sex on the first day of plecebo pills? And if it is a possibility, could I have gotten pregnant. My stomache has bit a bit queasy - but no vomit - for the last couple of days, but I don't know if it's just stress.

Thanks.

It sounds like you should be fine specially after being on the pill for so long. If you are under a lot of stress or worry a lot about it that can cause you to be late or even have symptoms. What I would do is the next time you are due for your period and you don't get it take a test. If you are really concerned and to have peace of mind sooner..I would call your doc and see what he says. Best of luck to you!
