when to conceive

by stacydenise, Sep 11, 2009 03:29PM
My hubby and I have a 10 month old daughter, and we just started trying to conceive for baby number 2.
Quick question... I cannnot always tell when I am ovulating to know when to have intercourse. I am not into checking my temperature and taking ovulating predictors. I just want to do it naturally. With our first baby, we just tried all month long. :) I have heard some doctors say to have intercourse every day, and others say every other day. What do you think? With our first we tried the every day method.... and it obviously worked. :)

If you don't want to do any charting or use OPK's than the best advice that I can give you is that you usually ovulate approx 14 days before starting your next period. Therefor, if your cycle was 28 days you would most likely have ovulated right around day 14. I would start having sex from the time your period stops until about 6-8 days or more after you think you have ovulated (just to give yourself a better window). Good Luck!! Sending Lots of Baby Dust!!
By the way... I have heard that you are more fertile after having a baby... just an FYI!

I used the "loose" version of the cervical mucus method.  We had sex every day whenever I felt "wetter" than usual.   Mucus increases just before and around ovulation time. There is a precise way to look at these fluids and tell by the consistency more exactly when you ovulate--google it for more info.  But we just BD'd on "wet" days and it worked for us.  Good luck!

Thanks for the comments ladies. I appreciated the insight. I''ll try the every day method. My hubby won't complain about that. :) Have a great one!
