will touching my cervix disrupt sperm

I know this sounds ridiculous but we BD at night and the next morning I want to check my cervcial position so I can chart it to see how far open/soft etc it is. Although I have this paranoia that the sperm could be hanging out it there and I sweep them away or disrupt them..it sounds stupid but where do the sperm wait...if they wait in the vagina I might be disturbing the party that their having trying to get to the egg. Sounds silly I know, but I'm having no luck conceiving for the past few months and I thought maybe touching your cervix reduces your chances or something. When I check in the morning and smell my fingers TMI sorry..gross...i can smell the *BD* smell if you know what I mean..thinking 'oh no that might be sperm'. Can someone please tell me this is not true and silly..I'm going insane thinking about it.

i'm fairly sure the sperm swim up through your cervix shortly after BDing...from what I understand, they "hang out" in your uterus until they die. from the research i just did, some of it CAN remain in your cervix and come back out due to natural muscular contractions or movements or gravity, but a good bit of it should be getting up into your uterus. so i wouldn't worry, any sperm that are going to get into your uterus will already be in there by the next morning....hope this helps :)
