your babys heartrate, weeks and sex

okay so heres my question? and the reason i ask is because the other day at my ultrasound (6 weeks) we heard our babys heartbeat for the 1st time and as soon as we heard the heartbeat my husband looked at the tech and told her it was a boy based on the heartbeat (117pm) and he wants a girl!!!

so my question is what was your babys heartrate the 1st time you heard it and how far along were you and what are you having or have you had, if you know your babys sex yet!!!!

u husaband is totally wrons as sex detemination cannot be done based on heart beat.heart sounds does not differ with sex.heart is same even in a baby boy or a girl.sex determination is made only on the basis of sexual organs that are developed at this time.but as a doc i dont encourage as it may lead to many complications like ur husband wants a girl or something else.so i suggest better dont go for such things.if ur husband still insist on,better let him meet the doc n disscuss why he wants to detrmine the sex of ur child.

the best time time to make USG to determine sex is 18 to26 or later.USG made at 6 weeks is to detect any genetic abnormalities for limb deformations,cardiac problems to assist a surgical procedure called CVS chorionic villous sampling.so sex of ur baby can be done only at above mentioned time.but there r certain tips to increase the chances of concieving a baby of desired sex.To produce a baby girl, the best time to have a sexual intercourse is between 3 to 4 days before ovulation. The reason is mainly because the female sperms can live in a woman's body up to 72 hours.Penetration level: A deep penetration while intercourse increases the chances of a baby boy.2) Maintaining PH level: If a woman's PH level are high or acidic, chances of getting a baby girl are higher and on the other hand if PH levels are low, chances of conceiving a boy are higher.4) Minor changes in diet: A high ratio of sodium and potassium in your diet will improve the chances of getting a boy child. On the other hand if you want a baby girl, consuming a lot of milk and butter which is rich in calcium will be a good idea. You should also try to minimise the intake of caffeine and salt.

Don't worry thickm, i understood your question. And you absolutley can tell the sex at 16 weeks, not what she mentioned above, im going the 12th when i am 16 weeks and they said they should be able to tell me the sex.

I was 26 weeks, only because of insurance issues. Her heartbeat was 135.

I heard baby's heartbeat for the first time at 7 weeks, and then every appointment after. I found out at 20 weeks he was a boy, but only because I had a stupid OB who "couldn't find the cranium". I was sent to a specialist, who found my baby's head, both of them LOL. We could definitely tell he was a boy, and is now 16 months old. I don't remember what the heartbeat was the first time, but I do know it was always 150+. I've never heard of the heartbeat theory...interesting. I love hearing all the theories and old wives tales on what the babies are. I was carrying high at almost 30 weeks when my grand MIL said it was a girl, we already knew it was a boy, and gladly told her she was wrong. (she's one of those people who you could say "the sky is blue" to and she'd argue it's red and be right.) Good luck, and tell your husband I said as long as he/she is healthy it doesn't matter what the sex is, but if you two want a girl I'll keep my fingers crossed!

lol he doesnt care what the baby is but he would love a girl!!! i have a daughter and he has a son and he said my daughter is so good and calm and pretty (girlie girl) lol.........yeah its a theory about the hb they say 140 a girl or something of that nature!!!

my sons was 176bpm and my daughters was 176bpm between 6-8 weeks!

My first ultrasound with a boy the heartbeat was like 160 something and now it is usually around 138 or 142
