1st doc apt.. Sono????

Will I have a sono performed on my first doc visit. My doc apt isn't till Sept 15 and by that time I should be 10 weeks pregnant based on my LMP. Its so far away and I really want to see my baby and make sure due date is correct.

I had my first appointment at 9 weeks and she only sent me for a ultrasound because my uterus is tipped and she couldn't get a accurate exam plevic for how far along I was. I just went to days ago and saw the baby at 10 and 1/2 weeks. I hope everything goes well with you and you get to see the baby soon.

Most of the time they will give u a sono on your first appt.to ensure baby's heart beat, (since it's too early for a doppler), and to confirm gestational age. Based on the growth and development it will determine if your due date is correct. Hope this helps.

It all depends on the doctor. I got my first around 18 weeks when most women do for the fetal survey (when you can also find out the sex). If you know your last period and everything is going good you may not get one right now since its not necessary.

Oh okay thanks. I really hope she gives me one. With my first child they gave me a sono on the first visit but that was a different doc at a different hospital too so idk what my doc has planned. But fingers crossed I get one. I want to make sure there's only one baby too bc I got pregnant 3 months after mirena removal and I've read that there's a chance of having twins after the mirena.

I did have a sonogram on my first appointment but I only had it because I didn't have an idea of my last period. Because I have irregular menstrual cycles.and doctor wanted to know how far along I was.
