24weeks

I'm now 24 weeks pregnant with my
daughter and I was in the ER this
morning because I woke up with contractions.
When I am checked when I arrived I was 3cm
dilated and 60% effaced.
They gave me medication to stop them and gave
me corticosteroids for my babygirl since she is
most likely coming very early

It's becoming apparent to me that my little one
will be coming early. And they discharged me
and put me on bed rest and said to come back if
the contractions start again or if I lose my plug.

My question is, is it okay for me (in my case) to
take a bath while Im dilated OR not. Like will it
make my cervix dilate more or no? (Not trying to
dilate anymore!!)

Being that I'd hate bed baths I'd call on Monday for details on that specific question.  Dr knows  your individual situation..

I agree. A sponge bath would be the better option. While the bath itself probably won't cause you to dilate more the added movement may and this early on every day that your baby stays inutero the better.

If your on bedrest I would suggest a bed bath. Not,a shower or a bath. One tub/bucket soapy one clean water and a few wash clothes. Top to bottom seperate cloths for private areas.
