38 weeks not sure is it's labor?

My stomach is getting hard every 5-6 minutes apart. It doesn't hurt but it gets so tight it feels like she's going to rip threw my stomach I called the on call Dr I'm just waiting for them to call me back could I be going into labor even thoe they are not painful?

It may be labour.. Some women don't know there in labour because they don't feel the pain, if they are consistent (so keep track) and if they don't go away when u take a bath, drink water or a walk then they'll b labour, :)

Sounds like Braxton Hicks which is like practice labor. Labor is the most strenuous work your body will ever do...but your body is made for it! Women have been doing it quite literally forced!  Try to relax and enjoy watching your body get ready to fulfill a miracle. When real labor starts there will be no mistaking it! Even if you don't experience the common labor pains across the whole abdomen with each contraction you will feel pain somewhere. It's hard work for your body to get that baby out! Good news is that this practice labor is getting some work done and may shorten your labor once it really kicks in!
