40 weeks and 1 day, no signs of labor

Hi all,

It is 40 weeks and 1 day today and I am showing no signs of labor. I have been sitting at home for the past two weeks waiting for the baby arrival, not sure how long I need to wait and if there is anything I can do to expedite or can know in advance when I will be experiencing labor.

Appreciate any help!

Thanks.

Hello!I'm pregnant too. 40weeks but no sign yet. But , i have so much contractions, pee all the time, back ache, and i walked a lot.....I was at my OB-GYNE today she said the baby's head is already down ready for a big day but no labor yet. But, i have to meet my OB on Monday for final check up i guess. If there's nothing happen this weekend by, next week my OB will call the hospital for admitting because she said can't be to long baby's head is preparing to come out and the cervix is already 1CM opening.

My oldest son carried nearly 3 weeks over. As soon as my dr gave me the date for induction I went into labor on my own. My next 2 were induced early due to complications. But, with my 4th, I went in 3 days before my due date. The dr said he didn't want me to carry over again and said that if I didn't deliver by my date, we would schedule the induction. I delivered on my due date. Apparently even scheduling the induction is enough for me. Lol maybe you'll have the same luck. Fingers crossed.

I saw my OB/GYN today (I am 40 w, 2 days), my cervix is completely closed, all I have been having is some pelvic cramps and some minor lower back pain and menstrual cramps for the last few weeks, I don't think I have lost the mucous plug. The Doctor has given me time until next Monday, if I don't have contractions by next Monday, my Doctor will give me a date to come in for inducing. I hope I have my baby before then, as sometimes when induced, there are higher chances of c-section...

Fingers crossed!

Been told by many forums and moms that primrose oil and red rasberry tea helps with labor and thinning. So been trying that- brought on alot of plug including some with blood in it. But no baby. Only been 24hrs tho so keeping hope and continuing with it.

40 weeks+2 days here lost plug with blood, baby #3 first girl. Lots of back pain, pressure and false labor. Dilated to a 4 outer but only 2 inner. Can't sweep my membranes because she's still to high. More than ready to hold my lil girl and be done being pregnant. Been in alot of pain last few weeks. Hoping this week goes by fast-being induced Fri if she doesn't come sooner.

I hear ya! I'm 5 days away from my last if 3 due dates! I'm so frustrated, she's being so stubborn, can't stand the pain from the extra weight....its annoying too. I tried EVERYTHING except castor oil. Our babies will come when they come. This is my 3rd, so I shouldn't have give this long especially since I'm measuring 2-3 weeks bigger. Ugh...so uncomfortable. Hang in there.

Walking, sex, fresh pineapples, massage the pressure points on your foot, and nipple stimulation.  I tried all of those with my late babies, but nothing worked.  They just came when they were ready.  My first was 7 days late, no signs of labor till she came I did loose my mucus plug, but a few weeks before that .  My second was 9 days late, had false labor about a week before I had real labor, but there were no noticible differences until I actually went into labor.  I know its hard, but just give it a few more days, baby will come!

Walking and sex are the best things to kick start labor!
