It took 10 days for them to keep me...but my contractions were much more regular. My hospital said as long as I could sit up in bed, they could give me the epidural...so I made it happen lol. Yay!!!

That is just crazy and scary. I hope you go to a different hospital and they keep you. I'd complain to the medical board  and who ever the higher ups are. They should have kept you. Sending good thoughts and vibes your way.

5cm Is Active Labor, I Thouqht My Hospital Was The Only Stupid One But Guess I Was Wronq.
My Hospital Wouldn't Take Me Unless My Water Broke, They Don't Care How Cm You Are Or If Your Having Contractions .
But Wow... I'm Sorry There Not Keepinq You, Honestly Just Throw A ***** Fit, Give Them A Hard Time And Over Exaggerate On Your Pain And MAKE THEM KEEP YOU.
I Wish You Luck Hunny And God Bless.

I had irregular contractions hunni..and i was slmost 10cms when i got to the hospital..i think the only reason they said come in was i couldnt speak on the fone i was in too much pain..if your pain is getting worse and worse..and u start getting lots of pressure (needing a poo feeling) ignore them and go in..i almost didnt make it in..taking a bath aswell is meant to calm them..so if you do thst and they continue thats a good sign..good luck mummy :)

That's crazy!!  U should've been admitted, even if ur not having contractions.  They could put u on pitocin to get the contractions going or popped ur water and that would really get it going.  When I went to the hospital with my first baby, I was 5 cm and actively in labor with contractions every 2-3 mins.  But still, ur half way there and they could help things along by admitting u instead of sending u home.  Either way, ur baby is going to make its grand appearance very very soon!!  Goodluck!!

uhm 5 cm is active labor sooooo.... yea Idk that's really stupid. Honestly I wouldn't take the medicine either. I would go home rest drink plenty of water etc and hopefully they will get closer together soon. Up to 4cm is just dilating and body getting ready for active labor one you hit 5 that is active labor and your contractions should start top be very regular and finish the process if not you may need to have your water broke or pitocin. Good luck huny I hope things start up for you soon and hope you have a smooth easy delivery.

I'm 37 weeks and my contractions are 5-7-10 minutes apart...I told my OB that I was in A LOT of pain and she prescribed me a sedative so I would relax, and told me to go home until they were regular. Right on the prescription it says do not take while you are pregnant...I am so frustrated, I feel like my doctor is terrible but I don't have many options this far into my pregnancy :( I'm so upset.
