Any healthy recipes/excercise?

I had my 23 week appt today and I gained 9lbs in 3 weeks with a total of 15 lbs. I was overweight when I found out I was pregnant, so immediately gd came to mind. I had gd with my last child (4yrs ago) and really really want to avoid it this time. Anyone have any healthy meal recipes and or excercise advice? Thanks!

I swim laps and walk the pool. At times it gets really uncomfortable to swim because my babies start moving a lot. I can't tell if they're moving so much because my body is all stretched out and they don't have much space or what. So when they start moving a bunch I tend to just walk. I'd say I probably swim for 30 minutes and its split 50/50 swimming and walking. When I swim, I use a kick board part of the time and alternate between kicking and swimming. I did just start though...I think the more used to it my body gets the more time I'll spend swimming.

Thanks!  @mommabanielle I've been thinking about doing the swimming too. Do you swim laps or walk in the water? I have my elliptical that i use but I get tired too fast :/

I've been gaining about that much every two weeks with my twins. I just started swimming because I feel like the elliptical is a little too challenging if you're starting from not exercising. If you feel up for swimming it's one of the best exercises you can do during pregnancy. Sometimes I even just walk back and forth in the lane. Good luck!

As for exercise try the elliptical.  It's super easy and you can increase the intensity aa you go if you feel it's to easy.

I would like exercise advice as well since I cannot weight lift anymore. Such as gym machines that are usable. Walking of course I can tell you is number 1. I choose to do hiking as much as I can. Running you are able to but dont recommend it if you weren't doing it before you got pregnant. Healthy eating I can tell you eat lots of fruits and veggies. Keep your carbs to earlier in the day and control control control the portions. Eat 5 to 6 small meals. Healthy snacks. Talk to physician on exercises if you haven't already.
