Dilating?

I'm 38 weeks and my ob said I'm in labor but not active labor. I'm contracting about every 6-7 minutes but am still only at 1 cm. Until I start to dilate I have to just hang in there. Any ideas or suggestions on how I can help the dilation process?

I wish I had any signs of dilation. I'm 38 weeks and my cervix is closed. I don't want to be pregnant over 40 weeks. I've waited so long, I just want my baby!!!

I've been suggested that by so many friends but I've tried doing as much research as possible and there are so many horror stories about the use of Castro oil?
